Coalition for Families with Disabled Children Established

Davina Carey-Evans·Feb 6, 2026· 2 minutes

Families across Wales deserve a strong voice in shaping the nation’s future. That belief stands at the heart of the Coalition for Families with Disabled Children Wales, a united movement of parents, carers, professionals, and organisations working together to advocate for fair policies and improved services for disabled children and their families.

Launched ahead of the May 2026 Welsh Elections, the Coalition aims to ensure political parties hear directly from those with lived experience, helping shape decisions that reflect the real needs of families.

A Vision for a Fairer Wales

The Coalition is preparing to publish a Manifesto for a Fairer Wales, outlining a future where disabled children and their families are valued, supported, and empowered.

Families across Wales are now invited to share their views and strengthen this vision. Completing the survey takes just a few minutes and will directly inform the Coalition’s conversations with political parties ahead of the elections.

Why a Coalition and Manifesto Matters

Piws believes that families with disabled children are the experts in their own lives. Together, we understand what works—and what needs to change. That’s why it is so important for families to come together, share ideas, speak up, and help shape better support across Wales.

A manifesto allows families to clearly communicate what matters most, such as better respite, inclusive play opportunities, and stronger support systems. Piws is proud to support Family Fund and our partners to ensure families lead this work. Together, we can make sure your voices are heard by decision-makers across the country.
